Conference
News
Once again, the Winter Conference is upon us and, thanks to Larry Chaffin and his hard working committee, we have a nice line up of speakers and topics in store for you.
Brian Rogers, Richard Burkepile and Keith Harrod are already planning and organizing the Spring Conference in Mansfield, Ohio.
The Annual Conference is shaping up nicely as well. This year we are trying something different with the vendors hosting all of the Friday classes on a round robin format. We have lined up two special speakers this year. We are proud to announce the return of Dr. Bryan Bledsoe and the return of an OAEMS Past President, Curtis “Corky” Young. You are urged to visit the announcement on the web site to read their bios (www.oaems.org). OEMTIA (Ohio EMT Instructors Assoc) will be back again this year and there is a strong possibility of a T.A.P. class as a pre conference event on Thursday. Remember that the absolute last date that you can reserve a room at the discounted rate is May 25, 2008
Anyone interested in assisting with the Fall 2008 Conference, please contact either myself or District 3 Director Larry Payne. We are in the process of pinning down a specific location and date at this time. Any and all suggestions are welcomed.
Winter 2009 will be held in the Cincinnati area. One of the Holiday Inns, that we have used in the past, contacted us and have asked us to return soon. As above, any assistance, suggestions or support will be appreciated. Contact myself or District 4 Director Don Phillips.
Check out the conference schedule on the website for the next one in your area, start planning now and step forward to chair the committee.
Travel and Learn 2007 I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. The classes were diverse and great from pediatrics to bus accident trauma. A big thank you goes out to Brian Rogers, Joni Reser and Melanie Erbaugh for their time and efforts to conduct the classes. We missed all of you that were not able to join us. Everyone had a great time as is evident by some of the photos on the web site. Next year’s Travel and Learn will be another cruise. Details will be available from Kat and the web site when they become available.
In closing, please remember to participate in the ongoing raffle for the O.S.U. Buckeyes Framed Photo, the silent auctions and the Logo items. Logo wear may be ordered from Kat and general Logo items from Jeane Wright.
Last, but certainly not least, our vendors. These folks do a lot of hard work behind the scenes to help keep your conference costs low. Please be sure to show your appreciation by stopping by and giving them an opportunity to discuss their products.
Be safe,
Pat Roberts
