President Beavers called the meeting to order. 

 

Barb Montler & Sally Chaffin verified a quorum.

 

President Beavers led to Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

 

The Recording Secretary did a roll call with the following Board members present

A MOTION WAS MADE BY LARRY CHAFFIN AND SECONDED BY ROY MYERS TO APPROVE THE SUMMER 2006 CONFERENCE MINUTES.  THE MOTION CARRIED.

 

A MOTION WAS MADE BY DAVE STAHLEY AND SECONDED BY KEITH HARROD TO APPROVE THE 2006 RETREAT MINUTES.  THE MOTION CARRIED.

 

President Beavers reported that we finally have the 501-C3 rating effective 6/25/2005.  We cannot charge a $10 fee for use of credit cards.

 

We need someone to fill the EMS Board seat ASAP.

 

We also need a seat filled for the NAEMT board.  John Kubincanek is currently on the board.

 

Issue #1 on the ballot is null & void.    There were not  enough valid signatures.

 

The new “1st Timers” were recognized and the members who brought them in will receive $5 credit.

 

President Beavers reported that Bobbi Gearhardt had turned in her resignation from the Board.  President Beavers thanked her  for her services & we members applauded.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY MELANIE ERBAUGH AND SECONDED BY LARRY PAINE TO ACCEPT THE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT REPORT.  THE MOTION CARRIED.

 

 

 

VICE-PRESIDENT REPORT:  John Kubincanek

 

Thanked the current committee for a wonderful job on the conference.

 

The winter conference 2007 will be held at Chillicothe.

 

The spring 2007 conference will be held in Marietta on April 13-15 at the Comfort Inn for $55 per night.

A MOTION WAS MADE BY LARRY CHAFFIN AND SECONDED BY DAVE STAHLEY TO APPROVED THE REPORTS OF THE DISTRICT DIRECTORS.  THE MOTION CARRIED.

 

 

EDITORS REPORT;  Dave Stahley

 

We need a sponsor for the magazine to provide a top quality magazine.  President Beavers showed the difference between the magazine of current compared to one a few years ago.  Everyone would like to see the older version that is colored with shiny paper.  (see attached report).

 

A MOTION WAS MADE BY PAT ROBERTS AND SECONDED BY LARRY CHAFFIN TO ACCEPT THE EDITORS REPORT.  THE MOTION CARRIED.

BY-LAW CHANGES;   Larry Chaffin

 

The following changes were read by Larry Chaffin.

 

1.       Section 6 - #7.01– Committees.  -  remove “or the Administrative Assistant”.

2.       add :  “The position of immediate past president be limited to one (1) three (3)

                    year term.  In the absence of the most recent immediate past president,

                    any past president may be appointed to fill the position for the balance

                    of the current term

3.       Section 6 – #6.02  - Board of Directors  -  remove “and the Editor.  The Editor shall be an

                           ex-officio member with no voting privileges”.

4.       Section 6 - #6.09  -  Secretary  -  remove the wording Secretary & add Administrative

                                           Assistant

 

     See attachments for exact wording!.

 

These will be read again in January 2007 and be voted on at that time.

 

President Beavers asked for anyone who is interested that works with CISD/CISM, Dive teams or Color Guards to put their names & info on a registry list for use around the state.

 

President Beavers announced the Committees with chairs & members.

 

Anyone interested in either taking orders or buying Tupperware to get in touch with President Beavers for books.  We will get 40% of all sales.

 

John Kubincanek would like to have all EMT Instructors to give him a copy of your card to help build a file for OAEMS use.

 

President Beavers asked that if anyone is not registered at the conference & did not buy a meal ticket, but is still eating, please don’t.  If you didn’t pay –you don’t eat!   John Kubincanek announced that any extra meals will be sent to the needy of this county.
