Please see the information below in reference to ALL SPECIAL TOPIC INSTRUCTORS ARE NOW EXPIRED, EFFECTIVE 02-01-2010.

Special Topics Instructor (STI) Certifications all expired as of Feb. 1, 2010.

STI's are now expired and cannot instruct as a stand-alone- instructors, legally, any longer until certified again under the Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 4765-18.

All previously certified STI's that were actively certified as an STI from February 1, 2009, have until March 1, 2010, to apply for an STI to CE Instructor conversions at this link:

CONTINUING EDUCATION (CE) PROGRAM DIRECTOR and EMS PROVIDER – UPDATE TRAINING SESSIONS OFFERED

The Ohio Division of EMS and the EMS Education Staff, will provide (5) EMS CE Program Director and EMS/FIRE Provider update training sessions, one in each region of Ohio, during April 2010. The locations, dates and times are listed below.

A training program has been developed to provide valuable information regarding the most recent updated laws and rules as they pertain to continuing education (CE), renewal requirements, Ohio certified instructors, information on the plan to move everyone to one card/one expiration date for all Ohio certifications by the end of the year, and other pertinent topics as they relate to FIRE and EMS.

All Ohio Approved EMS CE Training Program Directors and those certified as fire and/or emergency medical services personnel are encouraged to attend this training. Continuing Education credits will be provided for those that attend. Each session will be approximately 2 hours in length.
